Ablative Laser Skin Resurfacing Great Falls-McLean-Tysons Corner VA

Excessive upper eyelid skin results from the loss of skin elasticity and the integrity of underlying eyelid structures. Patients may complain of a heaviness of the upper eyelid, need to constantly raise their brow during the day or the struggle to place or retain makeup on the upper lid if there is redundant upper eyelid skin.  In addition, a low brow may exacerbate the excessive lid tissue leading to an even more complex problem.

The Cynosure ablative fractionated Erbium:Yag 2940nm laser treats skin texture, tone, and pigment changes. The fractionated 2940nm lasers allows for smoothing and tightening of the skin, even on delicate areas such as the eyelids. The treated skin will appears swollen and red for about two to six weeks depending on the treatment goals. This treatment is equivalent to 3-5 treatments of the fractional Cynosure Icon 1540nm Erbium:Glass. The downtime for the fractionated 2940nm is approximately 10 days, but the redness of the skin will persist for several weeks. During this time, the skin is treated to encourage the growth of smooth and healthy skin. The treated skin heals best when not exposed to sunlight for the first 10-14 days after the laser. 2940nm erbium treats are usually not repeated for over a year or more depending on your lifestyle (i.e. smoking, sun exposure etc.). A consultation with Dr. Zatezalo in Great Falls-McLean-Tysons Corner VA is needed to determine if you are good candidate for this laser.
